BELGIUM: Daikin Europe has released details of VRV 5 Heat Recovery, its fifth generation VRF air conditioner using flammable refrigerant R32 in medium to large buildings for the first time.

With a capacity range up to a maximum of 75.8kW, Daikin says the VRV 5 can cover the needs of the larger building with a single system. At the same time, it maintains the flexibility of VRF to cater for all types of indoor spaces, even very small areas.

The 3-pipe heat recovery system will be debuted at this month’s Climatizacion y Refrigeracion Exhibition in Spain, with deliveries expected from July next year.

The system includes a completely redesigned Branch Selector (BS) box that incorporates Daikin’s Shîrudo technology, allowing installation in spaces down to 7m2 without complicated calculations or additional field-supplied refrigerant control measures.

The Shîrudo technology, first used on Daikin’s mini VRV system, ensures compliance with EN378 and the product-specific standard IEC60335-2-40:Ed.6. Using the technology with Daikin’s Web Xpress design software allows quick and easy system selection and design to suit any space.

A comprehensive range of specially designed R32 VRV indoor units is promised to offer maximum flexibility for all room configurations. This includes Daikin’s ceiling mounted and suspended cassettes, slim, medium ESP, high ESP concealed ceiling units and wall mounted units in a choice of capacities ranging from 1.1kW to 31.5kW.
