UK: Daikin UK plans to open a new 240,000 ft2 distribution warehouse in Daventry in partnership with logistics company GXO.
Located at the heart of the Midlands’ logistics ‘golden triangle’, Daikin and GXO have jointly invested more than £4 million to consolidate their Aylesford and Manchester operations into one site.
The warehouse will exclusively service Daikin UK for all products and spare parts. This gives Daikin the ability to scale its operations by moving from multiple shared GXO Direct user storage facilities into one consolidated site.
The full transition from the current operation to the new warehouse will occur within this year and will create more than 75 new jobs.
GXO has worked with Daikin for over 17 years in the UK, Ireland and Italy and continues to provide flexible spaces and customized solutions to the HVAC sector.
Describing the move as a big step forward, Daikin UK manufacturing manager Sherine Hammad said: “The market for heat pumps and commercial HVAC products is growing rapidly and so we need to be able to keep up with this.”
