BELGIUM/POLAND: Yesterday Daikin Europe started construction on its first domestic heat pump plant in Poland with a groundbreaking ceremony at the site in Ksawerow, near Lodz.
The €300 million 320,000 m2 plant , which was first announced last year, will create 3,000 new jobs by 2030. It is scheduled for completion in April 2024 and production will begin in July 2024.
The senior leaders of Daikin Europe organized a traditional Japanese groundbreaking ceremony, which was attended by senior officials from the Polish government and the Japanese Ambassador to Poland.
“The new Daikin production site is the largest foreign investment in Poland in recent years and the largest ever made for the Łódź Special Economic Zone,” said Polish Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda.
Once completed, the Polish plant will be Daikin’s largest residential heat pump plant in Europe, supporting existing plants in Belgium, the Czech Republic and Germany.
