USA: Daikin Applied has acquired Alliance Air Products, a San Diego-based manufacturer of custom air conditioning equipment.

Founded in 2004 as a manufacturer of retrofit air handling units, Alliance Air has since expanded into all areas of custom HVAC manufacturing with over 700 employees and 230,000 ft2 of manufacturing space.

Announcing the acquisition, Daikin said: “Engineers, building owners and operators now have a single supplier of complete HVAC solutions, increasing delivery time and productivity while lowering life cycle costs.

Specifically, it states that the combined capabilities of Daikin and Alliance Air will meet the demands of a rapidly evolving data center industry with air conditioning systems from chiller to computer room.

“Alliance Air stands out for its manufacturing insight, creative design, fast work and delivery,” said Daikin Applied CEO Jeff Dries. “While this acquisition truly uniquely diversifies and strengthens our portfolio, it is a true benefit for our clients, especially those with hyperscale and co-location data centers.”

Alliance Air offers comprehensive customer support, from engineering assistance to design, testing and field service. In addition to data center cooling, the combined operations will serve a variety of custom design applications such as hospitals, manufacturing plants and laboratories.
