UK: Daikin Applied has announced the launch of its new Smart Control System (SCS), a solution for controlling hydronic installations including chillers, heat pumps, air handling units and fan coils.
Available since January, the SCS system optimizes the operating conditions of the entire HVAC system, with a particular focus on comfort applications such as light commercial establishments, offices, and small and medium-sized hotels.
Daikin’s latest development in control solutions, SCS, is available as an external panel that connects to the system units via Modbus protocol.
SCS is available in three basic configurations, providing scalability of equipment, licenses and price. Each version can control up to four chillers or heat pumps with a total cooling capacity of up to 500 kW and additional equipment as follows:
Light (up to 500 data points): up to 20 fan coil zones or 10 AHU;
Medium (up to 1250 data points): up to 70 fan coil zones or 10 AHU + 50 fan coil zones;
Full (up to 2500 data points): up to 120 fan coil zones or 10 AHU + 100 fan coil zones.
A fan coil zone can consist of up to 30 fan coils, controlled by a special controller, also developed and supplied by Daikin.
