JAPAN: Daikin Industries has entered into a partnership with the Tokyo Institute of Technology, National University Corporation, to establish a research center for the development of core air-conditioning technologies.
The two organizations have been conducting joint research for many years to improve motors used in large-scale air conditioners. This new joint research center will utilize Tokyo Institute of Technology’s academic knowledge and research resources related to compressors, motors and inverters.
Improving the energy efficiency of air conditioning compressors, motors and the inverters that enable them to operate efficiently is seen as key to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
