JAPAN: Daikin’s sales for the half-year to the end of September rose 30% to 2,019,800 million yen (US$14,490 million), while operating income rose 15% to 221,700 yen (US$1,590 million).
These record results are said to have come amid soaring commodity and logistics prices, the Shanghai lockdown and heightened geopolitical risks.
In the air-conditioning industry, the Shanghai lockdown affected production and supply, mainly in China and Japan, but sales increased in the Americas and Asia.
Sales of heat pump water heaters have increased in Europe and are in high demand.
