The new plant, operated by PT Daikin Industries Indonesia, has an annual production capacity of up to 1.5 million units and will produce three main models of inverter residential air conditioners.
Speaking at the plant’s opening ceremony, Daikin Industries Representative Director, Chairman and CEO Masanori Togawa emphasized that the new facility will play a strategic role in Daikin’s regional growth roadmap.
“Indonesia is an important part of our expansion strategy in Asia. With this new facility, we can now supply the Indonesian market more quickly and reliably, and strengthen Daikin’s leadership in the air conditioning industry in Asia and around the world,” he said.
The plant is in line with Daikin’s strategy to establish a strong presence in each country and region. It also supports Indonesia’s efforts to reduce its reliance on household air conditioner imports, which were valued at $420.46 million in 2024.
