UK: Daikin UK has added decarbonisation status to its commercial installer and partner programme.
The program aims to recognize and reward installer businesses that are taking steps to become more sustainable and reduce their own carbon emissions.
According to Daikin, becoming a D-carbonise partner will provide commercial installers with formal recognition of their commitment to zero emissions, as well as tools and resources to win new projects, attract customers and stay ahead of industry change.
The company insists that becoming a D-carbonise partner allows installers to demonstrate their commitment to delivering high quality installations that meet strict quality standards, as well as demonstrating that they are following a structured path to reducing carbon emissions across their business.
“With this new expansion of our partner programme, we are creating a trusted network of professional contractors who ensure project success and together demonstrate our commitment to decarbonising the entire supply chain,” said Steve Molloy, Sustainability and Commercial Solutions Manager, Daikin UK.
By becoming a D-carbonise partner, you receive a range of benefits to support your business growth and sustainability efforts. Specifically, D-carbonise partners can receive financial support from the Daikin Business Development Fund (BDF) to obtain green accreditations and funding to develop an independently verified carbon reduction plan.
Additional BDF contributions available to D-carbonise partners include 100% funding for Partner With Confidence services and 50% contributions to dual-branded charities and sponsorship initiatives, plus they can earn £5/kg towards their BDF for recycling R410A refrigerant.
To become a D-carbonise partner, installers must meet a range of criteria designed to ensure all partners maintain the highest standards of environmental and operational excellence. To qualify, companies must have a verified carbon reduction or net zero plan and achieve at least Bronze level in the Supply Chain Sustainability School. Membership of at least one recognised industry body, such as Refcom Elite, BESA, Quidos F-Gas Premium, MCS or equivalent, is also required, as well as maintaining a social value plan demonstrating measurable positive impact on society and the environment.
Partners are also expected to purchase Daikin decarbonisation products, including R32 VRV, CZ-HT high temperature commercial heat pump and Partner with Confidence services, and collaborate with Daikin on case studies where possible. Finally, F-Gas records must be provided on a system-by-system basis with details of each system type, initial charge, additional charges and end-of-life recovery data,
The launch of D-carbonise Partner status comes alongside a broader update to the Daikin Commercial Installer and Partner Program, which includes higher spend criteria as well as new benefits at each level of the D1 Certified Installer and Partner Program.
Key enhancements to the programme mean that certified installers will now receive a BDF towards spending on Daikin products and services, with a higher limit on their BDF. To encourage sustainable business practices, D1 and D1+ partners will also receive £3/kg for R410A refrigerant recovery, plus double the BDF for every R32 VRV unit purchased and a special bonus for providing annual F-gas refrigerant recovery data.
To encourage installers to make a positive social contribution, a new option has been introduced allowing customers to use up to £1,000 of their BDF to fund dual-branded charities and sponsorship initiatives.
