EUROPE: Copeland and Daikin will collaborate to provide a package of solutions with inverter rotary compressors, power electronics and control systems to European heat pump OEMs, distributors and wholesalers.

The move is an expansion of a joint venture formed last year between U.S. manufacturer Copeland and Japanese manufacturer Daikin to introduce Daikin’s inverter rotary compressor technology in the United States.

The partnership’s comprehensive suite of solutions is designed specifically for European residential heat pumps, the companies say. They say the duo’s deep application expertise and strong customer support will accelerate time-to-market for OEM implementations and enable a faster energy transition across the continent.

This collaboration combines Copeland’s solutions, expertise, established sales channels and customer support network with Daikin’s rotary compressor technology.

“This collaboration expands and strengthens Copeland’s portfolio of compression systems, enabling us to offer innovative, environmentally friendly solutions that meet Europe’s growing demand for efficient home heating,” said Copeland CEO Ross B. Schuster. “In addition to our industry-leading compression technology, we will combine our advanced power electronics, controls and dedicated customer support to help OEMs accelerate product development and drive the energy transition at scale.”

“This partnership places Daikin at the center of the development and production of inverter rotary compressors,” added Daikin CEO Jiro Tomita.

Once the preparations are complete following the signing, the joint venture is expected to start operating from 2026, serving the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and neighboring territories.
