BELGIUM: Daikin has added a smaller range of Altherma 4 EPSKS R290m heat pumps in 4 kW, 6 kW and 7 kW capacities for homes with medium and high levels of insulation.
First launched in April last year, the Altherma 4 EPSK series is Daikin’s first residential heat pump designed to use R290 refrigerant.
According to the statements, Daikin Altherma 4, which operates at outdoor temperatures down to -28°C, provides space heating using radiators at 55˚C and underfloor heating at 35˚C, as well as water heating up to 70°C.
Cooling is also available on demand. The outlet water temperature of 70°C/75˚C allows the operation of traditional hot water radiators.
The design incorporates special Daikin safety components such as a gas separator to prevent refrigerant ingress, factory-installed anti-freeze valves, a sealed junction box and a gas sensor with automatic fan control.
The latest Altherma EPSKS series outdoor units, updated to a compact size of 958mm (H) x 1220mm (W) x 535mm (D), feature an ergonomically positioned PCB and factory-installed components. In addition, the reduced size of water pipes and minimal water requirements simplify installation and reduce costs.
The intuitive MMI interface with a new 5-inch color touchscreen, built-in WLAN and remote update software supposedly offers easier, faster and more intuitive navigation. Daikin insists that the new MMI and software simplify pump setup and allow installers to view parameters remotely.
End users can monitor the unit’s energy consumption and adjust the temperature settings in each room individually using the Daikin Onecta app.
