United Kingdom: Daikin Airconditioning UK has acquired Glasgow-based heating company Saltire Facilities Management Ltd.

The move follows Daikin’s acquisition of Surrey-based service and technical company Robert Heath Heating last year and is expected to expand the company’s heat pump service network in Scotland.

Both acquisitions support the growing adoption of heat pumps in the UK, with Scotland seen as a promising market with a forecast demand of 70,000 units by 2028.

Saltire specialises in residential and multi-family heating services, offering maintenance contracts, heating installations and 24/7 service support. The company employs 300 staff, including over 200 field technicians, and has an additional branch in Birmingham.

Describing the acquisition as a significant step towards achieving Daikin’s strategic objectives of establishing a national service structure, Daikin UK CEO Tomoji Miki said: “By combining the strengths of Daikin, Robert Heath Heating and Saltire Facilities Management, we are well positioned to lead the UK heat pump market and provide our customers with exceptional service.”

Daikin says it has no plans to change its operations and will retain the name Saltire Facilities Management Ltd as part of the Daikin Group. The company sees the acquisitions as adding to its network of over 40 sustainable housing centres across the UK.
